Interesting kaiseki experience and great service from the staff. I will definitely return.
Het viel vanavond beetje tegen. Volgende keer beter.
The expectation for a Michelin star restaurant is much much much higher. The prices are extremely high for the quality, food and service we got. They should either decrease at least 5o% the prices (impossible for pride reasons I guess) or increase 100% the quality!
At the end of the dinner we were quite disappoint...

At the end of the dinner we were quite disappointed.
In Amsterdam there are better high quality restaurants even though more "rustic" and simple, but well done and authentic.
Sorry but this is the raw truth.
The whole meal was a feast of natural tastes. The starting dish was a delight. A wonderful combination of tastes and textures. The cold sake an unbeatable companion. The service was very polite and helpful, the best among all the michelin star restaurants I have tried.

Authentic Classic Cuisine
On the ground floor of the hotel you will find the Okura’s traditional Japanese restaurant Yamazato, a famous place for enjoying authentic Japanese cuisine where more than fifty Japanese specialities are on offer. The Yamazato Restaurant has an authentic, Sukiya-style interior, inspired on the Zen Buddhism from the heyday of the ceremonial houses in the 15th and 16th centuries. The atmosphere is made complete by the Japanese garden right next to the Yamazato Restaurant. You are also welcome to take a seat at the Sushi Bar and for private occasions one of our four private rooms will be at your disposal. For the Japanese breakfast reservations must be made in advance. The Yamazato Restaurant is member of Alliance Gastronomique Néerlandaise.
Yamazato Restaurant again awarded a Michelin-star!
The Japanese specialty restaurant Yamazato received its star in 2002 and is still the only traditional Japanese restaurant with one Michelin star in Europe. Akira Oshima says: "I am honoured to receive a star once again. It’s a recognition of the work all our kitchen and restaurant staff put in."
